450D Battery Grip : 

A simple infrared remote controller and a dual-channel infrared remote controller (optional) can be used to control the camera far from 10 meters. The dual-channel infrared remote controller has an auto-sensing function, so the shutter-release button releases when an object comes across between the remote controller and the battery grip.

Control Lock

The control lock (Diagram 9) locks the Vertical-grip shutter button to prevent unintended use. Focusing when half-press the Vertical-grip shutter button, shooting when press the button down. The control lock is not a power switch. Use the camera power switch to turn the camera on and off.

Attaching the battery grip

1. Remove the battery from the camera. (Fig.1)

2. Detach the cameras battery compartment cover. (Fig. 2) Insert the detached cover into its storage area to ensure that it will not be lost. (Fig.3)

3. Remove the protection cover for the electrical contacts, and then insert the electrical contacts into the battery compartment. (Diagram 4-)

4. Align the attachment screw with the cameras tripod socket, and then turn the attach/detach knob to tighten securely. (Diagram 4-)

l         Before attaching batteries with the grip, be sure to install the grip to the camera.

l         Before removing the battery grip from the camera, be sure to turn the camera power to OFF, and take out the battery grip power supply.

l         After taking the battery grip out from the camera, attach the protective cover so that the electronic contacts are not damaged.

Note: Be sure to place the camera contact cover in the holder for camera contact cover to prevent loss.

Inserting LP-E5 Battery 

1.         Press down the battery chamber lock and open the battery chamber cover (Fig. 5).

2.         Install the lithium battery as shown by the indicators in battery grip. The battery latch will slide aside during insertion and pop up to lock the battery in place when fully inserted (Fig. 6).

3.         Close the battery compartment cover and be sure that the battery compartment cover is locked well before using.  

Note: The battery grip can also be used with only one lithium battery.

l         If only one battery is used, it may be inserted into either the right or left slot.

Infrared remote control function

The O450D is equipped with an infrared remote control function with a simple remote controller or a multi-functional remote controller (optional) so that the camera can be controlled in 15 meters.

l         For the OFF, CH1, CH2/Power and channel switch: The power is off when the switch is on OFF. The power is on and at Channel 1 when the switch is on CH1, Channel 2 when the switch is on CH2.

l         For Power and state indicator. (LED): The LED blinks when turn on the power and change the channel. When pressing the shutter release button, LED blinks at the same time to show that the signal is output.

Infrared remote control function

1). Instruction for the simple remote controller (Fig. A)

l         Battery: It uses one CR1632 battery.

l         It equipped with a shutter release button. Focusing when half-press the Vertical-grip shutter button, shooting when press the button down.

l         The available distance is over 10 meters.

2). Instruction for the multi-functional remote controller (Fig. B)

l         For the ON/OFF Power switch: The power is on when the switch is on ON. And the power is off when the switch is on OFF.

l         Shutter-release button: Focusing when half press the button, shooting when press the button down.

l         Power and state indicator. (LED)

A. It uses two AAA batteries.

B. The LED blinks when turn on the power and change the channel.

C. LED blinks continuously (0.5 second per time) when the transmitter is on A TRIG

D. When pressing the shutter release button, LED blinks at the same time to show that the signal is output.

3). CH1CH2A TRIG/ Channel switch

l         The remote controller has two channels separately-CH1 and CH2. Set the remote and the battery grip at the same channel.

l         A TRIG/Auto-sensing mode: A TRIG (Auto-sensing function) the shutter-release button releases when an object comes across between the remote controller and the battery grip.

l         SCDELAY/TEST mode switch: When the channel is on CH1 or CH2, it is single shooting when it is set on S mode, continuous shooting when it is set on C, delay shooting when it is set on DELAY/TEST. When the channel mode is set on A TRIG, it is single shooting when it is set on S mode, continuous shooting (shooting for 2 seconds after pressing) when it is set on C, test mode when it is set on DELAY/TEST.

l         The available distance is over 15 meters.

Caution

The battery grip is not water-proof.

Never attempt to disassemble or repair the product by yourself. Any malfunction or accident resulting from such action is not covered by the warranty.

Make sure that the camera is on OFF position when install battery. And make sure that when inserting, batteries must be in accordance with the directions as shown [+] [-] on the inside battery pack cover.

When the camera is not to be used for an extended period, remove the batteries from the battery grip.

Using the camera in low temperatures:

Batteries weaken in low temperatures, which maybe cause malfunctions. To avoid this, it is recommended to carry fresh batteries. Alternating batteries regularly will keep them warm and help ensure smooth operation. Storing the camera in a warm place while it is not in used is also recommended.
